ABOUT LORI LOEBELSOHN
Lori Loebelsohn received her BFA from the Cooper Union, where she
studied painting and drawing. She received a MS from Hunter College
and has taught studio art to high school students.
As a professional illustrator, Lori's work has been published by
Harper Collins, Cambridge University Press, Providence Publishing
and Eakins Press. For Lefferts Homestead Children's Museum, Lori
did numerous commissions and is currently working on a children's
book, a first-hand account of a girl who grew up in the house during
the American Revolution.
In addition to creating oil and watercolor portrait commissions,
Lori has developed Life Cycle Portraits, an innovative approach to
portraiture. Instead of portraying an objective likeness of a
person, Lori creates a narrative of the subject's life including
meaningful and symbolic moments, an ideal gift for births, Bar/Bat
Mitzvahs, weddings and anniversaries. |
